Description:

I’ve lead this hike right before Thanksgiving. It is an excellent workout with a long climb, but the trail is in good shape, and it’s close in.

We get on top for an early lunch, and then we are back down and home early as well.
The rock itself has modest views to the south, and it’s just a nice place to see every year.
Might be mushrooms as well, for those with a mycological interest.

Trip Report

Cold morning in Oakridge but we warmed up rapidly going up Larison Rock trail. We had lunch on top and returned down to the land of frost. Starting to feel past my hiking prime with this group. It reminds me of John C. Mellencamp's comment, “There is nothing more sad or glorious than generations changing hands.” Looking forward to leading this hike in 52 weeks. For the first time, mountain bikers were on the trail as well, but no untoward incidents.
