Trip Report

The Lawler Trail is an older, neglected trail, which comes down the ridge east of the Eula Ridge Trail. To find the lower trailhead, the car driver leaves Hwy 58 at 5840 (The Patterson Mtn. Rd), a short distance up turn left onto 531, after a few miles turn right on to 535. The trail climbs up the ridge where there are some good viewpoints. It terminates in the meadow where the Lone Wolf Trail crosses. At present there are three road crossings.

Our work party cleared out downed logs and cut brush back. The tread is rebuilt a short distance in now. The Lowell District recreation people are also working to get it open all the way. When this is done, a trip could be scheduled to bring a party down the trail.

Lawler Trail workers were Mary Bridgeman, John and Pete Cecil, and leader Helen Smith.
