  • End date: 08/29/2022

Description:

Besides being a beautiful hike passing many lakes, this Love a Lake stewardship activity hike will be a chance for participants to help remove any trash from around Lils and Hidden Lakes. Lots of helping hands makes quick work.
Because the Trapper creek bridge is still out, the group will start by doing a short bushwhack through the woods on the other side of Trapper Creek to intersect the Whitefish trail which connects to the Yoran Lake Trail. Please bring sturdy gloves to pick up garbage. Leader will provide garbage bags to carry out trash.

Trip Report

10 hikers went on this Obsidian Stewardship hike. I was very pleased that so many folks were willing to help clean Lils and Hidden lakes. Love a Lake hikes are a way to enjoy the outdoors but also clean up the beautiful lakes we enjoy. We even stopped by Midnight Lake to break up some fire rings that were too close to the lake and pick up trash. We cleared out ash or dismantled a total of 6 fire rings. Trash was packed out. Kathie and Lis enjoyed a refreshing swim in Lils lake. This loop trail takes hikers past 11 lakes and ponds! The named lakes are Karen, Yoran, Lils, Arrowhead and Midnight. We hiked about 13 miles if you include walking around the lakes. Thanks to everyone for helping. It was a great hike.
