Lodge & grounds cleanup

Description:

Having a bit of spring cleaning. There will be several events at the Lodge right after the clean-up effort. The usual cleaning inside plus gutter and down spouts. Once gutters are cleaned we can deal with the mess we may have made on the side walkway. Hopefully, it has been dry enough to have given us a change to kill the walkway, steps, and entry moss. Still might need some scrubbing and /or pressure washing.
I'm sure that things will be growing and we will need to mow, trim, and weed.
We'll have something for everyone!

Trip Report

Having a good sized crew really enabled us to catch up on the grounds after the never ending rainy season. Mowers and weed eaters going non-stop. Gutters cleaned, walkways pressure washed, and lots of hand weeding done. Mulch spread. The list goes on of what the crew did to make a dramatic change in the appearance of the Lodge and grounds.
Inside the building got a good cleaning from top to bottom. Evan Gammon the City's Natural Areas and Trees Volunteer Coordinator spoke with some of us about coordinating managing our property's natural areas with the City's practices on the nearby Ribbon Trail. That discussion gave us a clearer picture of what steps we might take to ensure the health of the area and mitigate fire hazards.
