Trip Report

We had a beautiful clear day for this hike from the Windy Ridge Viewpoint to Loowit Falls in the blast zone of Mt St Helens. Mt Adams, Mt Hood and Mt Rainier were in full view in all their glory, making for amazing vistas as we hiked through the barren landscape on the side of Mt St Helens. Fields of purple due to the lupine that dominates the area, added much needed color to the sandy, desert-like landscape. After lunch near the falls, we returned by the same route.
