Description:

Let's hike to the summit of Mary's Peak, highest peak in the Oregon Coast Range. Although the summit isn't the prettiest place on the planet, the view of the Cascades on a clear day stretches from St. Helens and Adams in the north to Diamond Peak in the south, in a word, Spectacular! The hike will be up the North Ridge trail, the well-graded, continuous 2300 ft climb over about 4 miles. We will descend via the East Ridge trail to the Tie Trail (400 ft more elevation gain), then along the Tie Trail back to the North Ridge trail and down to the cars, making this a 9ish mile RT with approximately 2700 ft elevation gain.

Trailhead: Woods Creek trailhead on Woods Creek Rd (partly unpaved but good compacted gravel) off of US 20, west of Corvallis. Permit not required.

Weather forecast: 'Chance of Rain', but we will go regardless of weather. Also a chance of muddy trail conditions, maybe even a smidgeon of snow near the top.

Meet up location: Northeast parking lot at Jerry's on OR99, just north of the Beltline. We will carpool from there. Suggested donation to drivers = $10.50.
