Trip Report

We went to Mary's Peak via Veneta and the Territorial Road then north to Monroe and west via Alpine to the falls on the South Fork of the Alsea River. There was a goodly flow and the falls were pretty. The countryside was green and many flowers were in bloom. We passed through Alsea and headed toward Mary's Peak. Clouds swirled around and when we got to the top it snowed slightly and blew so that we could see little. We drove to Philomath for a coffee stop, then to the Horner Museum in the basement of Gill Colesium at Oregon State. The museum was well worth visiting.

Riders (who returned home by 4:30) were: Clara Ackley, Margaret Baldwin, Helen Beck, Ingrid Carmichael, Clair Cooley, Helen Curry, Ardis Ebbighausen, Harriet Friday, Gerry Haller, Marian Hessel, Vera Heidenreich, Flora & Herman Hendershott, Evelyn Hile, Jean, Ray & Tilda Jensen, Virgina Kapsa, Helen Knowlton, Bea LeFevre, Darlene Murphy, Frances Newsom, Maude Nilsen, Jean Nye, Jan Pattison, Bonnie Quasdorf, Lois Schreiner, Grace Smith, John Thompson, Louise Thurber, Cristy White, Hawk Williams, Anna Maria Villager and Ewart Baldwin (leader).
