Description:

This hike starts near Maxwell snow park and climbs 2500 feet to the summit of Maxwell Butte for some impressive views of Three Fingered Jack. After the hike some of us will stop at Takoda's restaurant for dinner so choose your ride accordingly.

No limited entry permit or NW forest pass needed.

Trip Report

Our cool July weather is giving us some great hiking days plus the cloudy skies make for some excellent pictures. Snow and mosquitoes were a moderate problem heading up Maxwell Butte but they both disappeared by the time we reached the summit allowing us to enjoy our lunch and the great views.
