Description:

Update: It look like we will need 2 or 3 cars for the 9 people leaving from Springfield. Departs from: Springfield Safeway at Pioneer Plaza on West Q street on the west side.
We will drive up Mohawk Valley to Sweet home and then west on Highway 20 to McDowell Creek Falls County Park meeting the Coopers with grandkids at 10:00 who will be driving from Lebanon. The hiking loop has three waterfalls . Around 11:30 or so we could drive to Lebanon for lunch at Ixtapa Mexican Restaurant.

Trip Report

We drove out of foggy Eugene through the Mohawk Valley for a sunny walk at McDowell Creek Falls County Park, west of Sweet Home. Royal Terrace Falls, Crystal Pool and Majestic Falls were the three show stoppers for photographers. We lost count when our three youngest and energetic junior members viewed any water descending vertically as a waterfall. Lunch at Ixtapa Mexican restaurant in Lebanon added another ripple to our idyllic jaunt. The drive from Pioneer Parkway Safeway to the falls took one hour including a wrong slight left turn off of Pleasant Valley Road to White's Electronics and Museum (metal detectors).
