Trip Report

Our cheerful group worked again on blackberry removal on the 2.5-acre plot, adopted by Obsidians. Green Island, managed by McKenzie River Trust, is located ten miles north of Eugene, at the confluence of the McKenzie and the Willamette Rivers. We clipped dozens of blackberry bushes, dug up roots and cut 15 dead conifers. Mostly sunny and windless day started with 35°F and finished with balmy 44°F.
It was a great work party and pure joy with volunteers!
