Trip Report

We had 9 Obsidian climbers on Middle Sister over Memorial Day weekend. When we got to our high camp the wind made setting up tents daunting. We then had a practice session to review traveling on a fixed line on snow. In the middle of the night the wind died down and when we got up at 4 AM it was calm. The strong team started out at 5:15 AM and was on the summit around 9:30. We had an uneventful descent from the steep upper part of the mountain and then took off harnesses and crampons and were able to glissade in some spots before getting back to camp. The hike out was quick.

The June Bulletin is online now.
