Description:

Planning for a June 19 summit. We have a permit that allows an overnight with entry on Friday. We will leave Eugene (Springfield Albertsons) at 2pm so that we can camp high, near the saddle. Summit Saturday.

Trip Report

We started from Pole Creek and encountered more mosquitoes than snow once we got on the climber's trail. We set up camp just above the treeline (approx 7700ft) where the mosquitos didn't seem to hang out. The next morning, we enjoyed the sunrise and walked up to the saddle. The summit push was a mix of rock scrambling and snow, but we were glad to have crampons on the steep section. Great weather and a great crew.
