Description:

We will be accessing the mountain via the Pole Creek trailhead on the eastside. On Sat we will meet around 8 AM to drive over and hike or ski in, depending on how people prefer to travel and snow conditions. We'll camp Sat night and get up early to climb on Sunday. Then come back down to camp and pack up and head out.

Trip Report

We had an amazing climb up Middle Sister! Due to rainy weather on Sat we postposed the climb to Sun. On Sun we hiked into high camp (~7200') and had a snow-free campsite. Once at camp we refreshed our roped travel skills and then had dinner and went to bed early. We woke up on Monday to perfect weather and climbed the mountain. The summit block was steep and somewhat icy so I set a fixed rope for folks. We celebrated at the summit, then climbed down and back to camp. We broke camp and hiked back out. The day was topped off with blackberry milkshakes at the Sno Cap cafe in Sisters.
