Trip Report

Left Eugene at 8:00 a.m. to Frog Camp. Met two climbers from Wemme, near Mt. Hood there and started hike at 10:30. After a slow and easy trip we got to our camp site at Arrowhead Lake a little before 2:00, after setting up tents, eating, etc., some took short side trip to Obsidian Falls and a couple others took a not so short climb of Little Brother. After supper all sat by a large fire, compliments of the Moffitt family, till strong east winds put an end to the day and we crawled into our tents. We started climb at 7:45 a.m. and reached the summit by way of Collier Glacier at 11:15. Threatening skies shortened our lunch and lightning, rain and thunder started about 15 minutes later. We got back to camp in the rain and out to cars at 4:30. This trip was led from cars to summit by Wayne Hatch. On trip were Pat Banks, Mitch Daletas, Ken and Steve Daletas, Al & Theresa Gamache, Chuck Haddad, Lee and Wayne Hatch, Jean Hisey, Wayne Martin, Sam Miller, Bob, Larry, Mike, John, & Rea Moffitt, Bill Pratt, Jeanne Thurman.
