Trip Report

Fourteen climbers left for the summit of the Middle Sister at 8:10 a.m. on Aug. 29. All climbers spent the night before in the Sunshine area. Bert Ewing served as co-leader as our "expedition" climbed to the summit in a little over three hours. Excellent weather allowed our group to see as far North as Mt. Adams. Eight of the fourteen climbers were on the summit for their first time. Four of these eight were first-time climbers! After an hour's lunch on the summit we began our speedy glissades back to Sunshine. Somehow it took us over five hours to return to Frog Camp.

Climbers completing this climb were: Mike and Susan Caley, Sam Miller, Lee and Wayne Hatch, Carol Jackson, Bert Ewing, Mark and Bill Lewinsohn, Ray Mitchell, Tom Rhodes, Bill Williams, Vickey Nelson, and one forgotten name. Sam Miller was the leader.
