Description:

Midnight Lake is a beautiful snow shoe destination, and I'm looking forward to checking it sans snow! A good part of the trail is forest service road. The trip is rated moderate, but leans more toward easy. If you've not hiked this before and have questions about your ability, please give me a call.

Should be warm, we'll stop at the lake for an early lunch. For those interested, a quick swim is an option.

Carpool: drivers needed, please sign up if you're able. You will need a Northwest Forest Pass.

Trip Report

Many of us have snow-shoed from Gold Snow Park, but this was a chance to see the terrain in dry conditions. We left the parking lot and headed out the NFS road then turned left to go up to the Odell Lake Overlook. What a beautiful view, perfect temp and even air quality was good. From there we hiked the PCT trail up to Midnight Lake. Again, we were greeted by perfect weather and a welcoming spot to have lunch. We enjoyed meeting a PCT "through hiker" who was clocking up to 40 miles per day, heading home to Canada! Everyone enjoyed the day and each others company.
