Updated 8/24. Look for us by my car a row or two down from the fee box. Sunset is 7:58 pm and moonrise is at 7:57 pm. I plan to take the main trail to the summit. Email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net if you have questions. If you don’t have a Lane County pass allow time to purchase one with Debit/Credit card (no cash) at the pay station by trailhead. To buy an annual pass and support the trails, check out the websites for Friends of the Buford Park ($50.00) or Mt. Pisgah Arboretum. ($50.00/$40.00 for seniors).

Trip Report

A few hikers started up the main trail 15 minutes earlier than our 7:00 departure for the 7:58 sunset and 7:57 moonrise. Reunited on top we visited with our six guests and watched the celestial events. On the way down a chorus of tree crickets provided a free concert. Back at the gate, Darko used his Sky Watch app to identify the planets and then pointed out the space station silently streaking overhead.
