Mt Pisgah Sunset/Moonrise

Description:

Please read the COVID-19 Protocols on the website. Met two rows down below the gate in the parking lot. My current plan is to take Trail 4 intersecting the main trail to the top. Moonrise is at 7:57 pm and sunset is at 8:58. (The full moon is the next night)

If you don’t have a Lane County pass allow time to purchase one with Debit/Credit card (no cash) at the pay station by trailhead. To buy an annual pass and support the trails, check out the websites for Friends of the Buford Park ($50.00) or Mt. Pisgah Arboretum. Trip Report

Moonrise was at 7:57 pm, seventeen minutes after we left the main trailhead. Once on top the moon was above the foothills and the 8:58 pm sunset was just beginning to color the sky. On the way down we could look upward and have spectacular views of the moon rising above the trees. It seemed to follow us back to our cars.
