Description:

Moonrise is at 8:21 pm and sunset 8:59. One day before the full moon. Look for us by my car, two or three rows down from the fee box at the gate.. We will take Trail 7 to Trail 4 intersecting with the Main trail. Email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net if you have questions. If it is raining, we will not linger.

Trip Report

A hot start at 7:30pm put us on top by 8:21 for the moonrise. A cool breeze encouraged us to linger and wait for the moon to eventually appear about the low clouds just around the time of the 8:59 sunset. We cheered with another group of celebrants—familiar faces for most of our monthly sunset hikes. One of them took our group photo and Gwyneth snapped their group photo. Rick identified the hovering drone like object as a red-tailed hawk.
