Description:

This is a moonrise hike! Moonrise is at 5:18 pm and I'm sure we won't wait for the sunset at 6:26.

Look for us by my car, two or three rows down from the fee box at the gate.The current plan is to take Trail 7 and 4 to intersect with the main trail. Email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net if you have questions.
Have some warm clothing to put on while lingering on the summit. Full moon is Wednesday, October 20.

Trip Report

It felt like a warm summer day when we left the parking lot at 4:20 pm. On top we sat on a bench for around ten minutes waiting for the moonrise. Maureen said, "It was almost like the absence of wispiness where it was in the sky that allowed me to see the moon at first. Then once my eyes caught it, they couldn't let it go. And it got brighter as it rose. " On our way down on Trail 3 and 7, we enjoyed the beginning of the 6:28 sunset. It was Maureen's third Obsidian trip and her first first time on the Pisgah summit. It was fun to share almost everything I knew about the trails and the Mt. Pisgah Sighting Pedestal.
