Description:

Moonrise is at 6:30 and sunset is at 6:40. The full Moonrise is the next day 6:51. Look for us by my car a row or two down from the fee box. The current plan is to take 17, 7, 4 and 1 with an optional shorter route of #7 and #3 to the main trail. I read that this is Hunter's Moon where deer are easier to spot when vegetation is sparse. If you don’t have a Lane County pass allow time to purchase one with Debit/Credit card (no cash) at the pay station by trailhead.

Trip Report

The Hunter's Moon appeared above the smoke and so did Jupiter. It should not have been a surprise that we saw five deer as we drove out of the parking lot. What a pleasant evening for a Pisgah hike.
