Mt Pisgah Sunset/Moonrise (long)

Description:

Look for us by my car, two or three rows down from the fee box at the gate. We start hiking at 5:30. This is a long hike to backside of Pisgah. It takes at least two hours at a moderate space to get to the top!. The sunset is 7:35 and moonrise is 7:46. . We will take Trail 7 to Trail 4 DOWN to Trail 2 and then up 800 ft elevation on the east side.. Email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net if you have questions. If it is raining, we could opt for a shorter hike.

Trip Report

Some wind and rain predicted at 7:00pm encouraged us to vote to shorten the hike and head up to the summit at the junction of Trail 4 and 1. Surprise! We were the only ones on top. The weather forecasters in our group were correct—It started raining on our way down. We were happy to have a mostly dry hike.
