Trip Report

Though the weather did not look good this Sunday morning at Timberline Lodge, seven heavily clothed climbers started up at 2:30 a.m. From the beginning we knew it was unlikely we'd make the summit, but we pushed upward looking for a good hike, at least. At the top of the Palmer lift, the wind was blowing very hard, snow and fog were in the air (This is June 14?) and a quick survey found all agreed that it was not prudent to go forth. We started down at 5:00 a.m. reaching our cars at about 6:30 a.m. Disappointed, but happy to at least have done some climbing were Gary and Sue Doolittle, Dick Hildreth, Mike John, Tom Johnson, Mike Nichol and leader Steve John.
