Trip Report

We left Eugene about 4 p.m. on a nice warm day, arriving at Timberline Lodge just before dark. We tried to sleep on the warm floor of the Lodge with no success. The climb started at 12 a.m. under an almost full moon and thousands of stars. We made good time up to the top chair lift where Gerry turned back (blisters). We continued to the hogs back where we were able to pass two large parties. On top the wind kept the temperature around 20°F. We met a couple guys with a golf club and a dozen balls. I then got to hit the drive of my life - a good 3 to 4 thousand yards. The slide down was enjoyable with a soggy mile of walking. The climbers were Rick Ahrens, Christine Ligneau, Gerry Tomseth, and leader Ken Daletas.
