Trip Report

Saturday night we camped at Still Creek campground. The road into the campground was blocked by snowdrifts and we had to carry our camping gear in. It clouded over that evening and the mountain was completely socked in. Rained Saturday night. Up at 3:30 Sunday morning and began climbing at 5:15. The clouds were below us and it was clear and cold with a brisk wind. One turned back because of leg cramps. There were many people on the Mountain. One head count near the hogsback came up with 116 climbers that we could see. We were on the summit by 11:15. Wind was strong and it was cold. Back to the lodge at 2:30. Timberline reported winds of 42 mph and it was much stronger at higher elevations. A good climb except for the hordes of people. Climbers: Phil Baldner, Keith Blunck, Mitch Daletas, Steve Daletas, John Hribernick, Paul Hribernick, Chuck Haddad, Tim Hulsing, Steve Johnson, and leader Randy Zustiak.
