Trip Report

Twenty people climbed Mt. Hood on 16 May '76 on a sunny, but cool and windy day. Regular route.

We started at just the right time to be at the chute after the 85 Mazamas had gotten out of the way. Only stayed on the summit a few minutes. Very windy. Went back to the saddle in the crater for lunch. Watched a group of skiers whiz down off the west crest, into the crater, up over the saddle and down the mountain. Fast trip! We arrived at Timberline Lodge just as the clouds and drizzle came.
