Trip Report

After a cold, clear and windless night at the trailhead, eight climbers left for the summit at 6:30 a.m. It did not take long on this late summer day for the temp to get up high enough so that after an hour or so we were all in shorts. It was a fine day and we took our time with several good rest stops. The entire group reached the top at 11:15. The view was clear in all directions. The Three Sisters could be seen to the north and the view to the south was well past Mt. Shasta into the Trinity Alps. The temp was mild and there was no wind. With it this nice it was hard to leave, but at 12 noon we started back down and we had all arrived back at the trailhead by 3:00 p.m. Climbers were Jason Mueller, Rich Peevers, Marsha Barr, Keith Newsom, Kim Sawyer and soon-to-be-member Justin Sawyer. Leader was George Baitinger and assistant leader was Virgil Lamb.
