NOTE TIME DEPARTURE CHANGE for 9:00 : The Ducks are playing in a bowl game at 12:30pm.
Direction to parking lot: Turn right at the sign for West Summit Trailhead and follow pay fee signs. We meet near the gate and pay station. If you don’t have a Lane County permit, allow time to purchase one at the pay station by trailhead. Depending on weather, I plan to take back trails to the summit, avoiding the main trail #1. Pace will be moderate steady. I plan to take a longer way to the summit (4.8 miles -Trail 5, 56, 6 & 2) From the summit one can take the main trail #1 (1 1/2 miles) back to the cars for a total of 6 miles or continue on north on 4 and 3 to the north trailhead for a total of 7.4 miles.
