Description:

Don’t let the early departure time discourage you. It is a refreshing time of day to hike at Pisgah. For the four mile hike to the summit, we will take # 5 through the south meadow up to Trail 3 with its great views to the west and then up the steep Trail 6 (south ridge). From the summit, we have several options: take main trail or Trail 2 to intersect with Trail 4 or just take the main trail (shortest) to the parking lot. I estimate 2 1⁄2 hours. Meet at my car in the parking area below the fee box. No need to come earlier. It will be a quick check in. if you have questions, my email is : jbjacobsen@comcast. net You will need a Lane County Parks Pass. There is a fee box (no cash) for a day pass. Moderate pace.

Trip Report

It was a crisp clear morning to walk through the South Meadow and up the south ridge to the summit. Avoiding the main trail is the best way to hike at Pisgah.
