Description:

First conditioning hike of the new climbing season.

Meet at the bench at the main parking lot. We will hike either the famous West Face Direct route or the "Sound of Music" South Ridge to the top and back.

Note- a parking fee is required for the day use or bring your Lane County parks pass.

  • Supplies and Equipment Required: Bring a "summit pack" that includes every item you think you need to climb Mt Hood in a day. Also, no cheating on the foot wear- time to break in the leather boots. Do not bring plastic boots. Bring trekking poles. We will snack at the summit.
