Description:

UPDATED: Bring warm clothing to hang around for the moonrise. Meeting place: Look for the yellow fee box. A day pass is $4.00. I'll try to have my car in the row below so that is is easy for us to meet, sign up. etc. Sunset is at 5:21 PM and Moonrise is at 5:54 PM. I’ve given us 50 minutes to hike up Trail 7 and 4 to the summit. You don't have to stay for the full moon (6: 10 or so) but can head down the main trail after sunset. Bring headlamps. Guests welcome! if you have any questions, email me at jbjacobsen@comcast.net
If you don’t have a Lane County pass allow time to purchase one at the pay station by trailhead. To buy an annual pass and support the trails, check out the websites for Friends of the Buford Park ($50.00) or Mt. Pisgah Arboretum. ($50.00/$40.00 for seniors).

Trip Report

Clouds obscured the sunset and gave no encouragement to linger for the moonrise. Our reward was a frog serenade back at the parking lot. Perhaps instead we should have scheduled our celestial hike for a predawn viewing of the super blue blood moon.
