Trip Report

Long trip, last of group arrived back at cars at 11 p.m. After a good start, we had to wait for about two hours in the saddle (in the wind) while another large group climbed the standard route. We all finally summitted late afternoon. It was as miraculously warm and sunny on top, as it was windy and cold on all the rest of the mountain. The last of the party finished the two rappels we made coming down and arrived at the top of the scree slope at dark. Half of the party had gone ahead to the cars but half of us were able to enjoy descending scree by flashlight. The walk out by full moon was nice and peaceful, the last four arriving at the cars at 11 p.m. Climbers were Ken Ball, Linda Erz, Jon Levy, Mike Morrow, Sean Oldham, Janie Thomas, Tom Woxell and Bill Bankston (leader).
