Description:

We have options to shorten the mileage—depending on the group and rain. I'll try to have my car in the row(s) below the fee box and gate so that it is easy for us to meet, sign up. etc. . I plan to take back trails (down Trail 4 and up Trail 2) to the summit. Mileage and elevation could vary but around 6 miles to 7 miles at a steady pace.

Trip Report

Surprise! No rain! We hiked Trail 4 and 2 to the summit where we met Dave Reinhard and shared our chocolate energy balls. On the way down we met Caroline Forell, President of the Eugene Masonic Cemetery Association and shared our appreciation that the annual Obsidian Groundhog Hike was mentioned in their recent newsletter including a reference to the Cooper's grandchild Henry, an Obsidian Junior member. What a coincidence! It was time for lunch when we finished the hike.
