Description:

This is the shorter Mt. Pisgah Winter Solstice hike. Look for us by my car a row or two down from the fee box. Sunset is 4:37. I plan to take trail 17 to 3 then 4 up to the main trail and the summit. Trip Report

Hopes of seeing the sunset or the great conjunction - while slim - were totally squashed as a light rain started just as we were ready to leave the parking lot. Going up the sheltered trails 3 and 4 kept us mostly dry until we reached the windy top and quickly headed back down trail 1. By the time the last of us reached the bottom, well...it was very wet. It was a good time though and another enjoyable trip up Mt. Pisgah on the Winter Solstice.
