Description:
Mt. Shasta is one of the most beautiful mountains in the Cascade Range, with sweeping views and amazing landscape. This is a two-day climb to 14,179 feet, with one night of snow camping. We will ascend Avalanche Gulch, the main climbing route, spending the night at Helen Lake (frozen somewhere under all the snow). We will also consider the more remote Hotlum-Bolam ridge, if road and mountain conditions permit, and the group is up for the challenge.
This is a strenuous climb so participants fitness level should be up to the challenge.
