Description:

This is a Halloween costume climb of Mount Yoran. We will first scramble up the main mountain not in costume since it is a class 3 rock climb and so requires hands as well as feet. After downclimbing that we will hike over to the adjacent peak and have our Halloween costume party on top.

If you do not wish to climb Yoran, but want to participate in the costume event, you can wait at Divide Lake and we'll pick you up to go scramble up the adjacent peak, which is non-technical.

Trip Report

This was the first annual Obsidian Mount Yoran costume climb. The weather did not cooperate so we ended up summiting the adjacent peak locally called "Myran". It was full-on alpine winter conditions up there with a white-out and strong winds. We scurried down from the summit and had the costume party by a small lake. There was lots of chocolate and creative costumes. Very fun day!
