  • Start date: 11/19/2024

  • Start time: 10:00 AM

  • End date: 11/19/2024

  • End time: 1:00 PM

Description:

Obsidians volunteers will join others and work in coordination with the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council to build a new community garden center in Cottage Grove. The project for Nov 19th will include the continuation of installing fence posts and dismantling of the old garden beds. All tools will be provided, so only your enthusiasm and the will to do the work in, for now, unknown weather conditions are required.
Wear layered "work" clothes since we will be mixing cement and digging holes. Christina used an auger last week to start all the holes for the fencing. Bring a lunch or snacks plus water.
Please support program of Huerto de la Familia , now a part of a nonprofit called Plaza de Nuestra Comunidad, serving latine community members and immigrants across Lane County.

The volunteers need to park in the lot off of R Street which can be accessed from River Road to Harrison Ave.

Trip Report

It was a good day. We finished the gate posts that required cement and worked on dismantling of the former plots.
