Description:

Obsidians volunteers will join others and work in coordination with the Coast Fork Willamette Watershed Council to build a new community garden center in Cottage Grove. The work will include cleaning old garden structures, moving flower beds, soil, etc. All tools will be provided, so only your enthusiasm and the will to do the work in, for now, unknown weather conditions are required.
PROJECT FOR FEB 1st: Building a shed, setting the raised beds in place and filling the raised beds.

Please support program of Huerto de la Familia, now a part of a nonprofit called Plaza de Nuestra Comunidad.
The volunteers need to park in the lot off of R Street which is on the backside of the Cottage Grove High School. From the junction of E Main Street and Hwy 99 drive south and turn right on E Harrison Street. At R Street, turn left and the parking lot will be on your left. If you are driving from Eugene/Springfield, contact participants if you want to carpool.

Trip Report

Seven Obsidians continued at the Cottage Grove Garden. The group continued to move compost and soil to prepare for the building of the raised beds. The dry weather was a huge plus for the day!
