New Years Day- Butte-Medium

Description:

This is our 15th annual New Year's Hike that continues a long Club tradition. We will start from the 52nd St. trailhead on Willamette. There will be two other departure times and locations so we will plan on gathering on the South end so as to lower our impact on others. Start the year with fitness, friends, and the great outdoors. 2025 here we come!
* A good parking option is across the street on 52 street, that way we lesson our footprint and it may be a bit safer for your car.
**Reminder that this is a Leave No Trace hike and no feeding the squirrels or throwing apple cores. Thank you.

Trip Report

The day was quite drizzly but spirits were buoyant. Enthusiastic Obsidians greeted each other up and down the trail and on the summit. The group enjoyed 3 guests and 2 brand new members. It was a party at the top with cookies supplied by Jim and Joanna. Great start to the New Year.
