Description:

This is for people who want a different route up Spencer Butte or want to free up space for someone else in the group at the main parking lot or want to do it but are wait listed. Whatever. We will take the Willamette Trail up, leaving earlier than the other group. We are meeting at the 52nd St. parking lot, the dirt lot that is north of the main lot. This is the same lot we walk through on the Blanton to Spencer Butte hike
NOTE: leader will leave the hike at the Tie Trail on the descent to walk to Mt. Pisgah for the afternoon hike. Dave Lodeesen, the Assistant Leader, will take over.

Trip Report

We had 16 on the hike on a cold (30 degrees with freezing fog) day. As we ascended towards the Tie Trail, we could see areas of sunlight on the trees high above us. We got up on top in bright sunshine and were joined shortly thereafter by Janet's group from the main Parking Lot. We had a picture of all of us, had some food, and then this leader left with Steve Cordon to hike to the Mt. Pisgah TH from Spencer Butte. Dave Lodeesen took over and brought everybody minus two back to the cars.
