New Year’s Day-Spencer Butte

UPDATE as of 7:32 am. As I said in my email to all of you yesterday that I was not willing to drive if there was snow at my house at 800 ft. I just sentall of you an email saying that I have canceled the trip. I need to know that you have been notified either through the email or by canceling from the trip. Otherwise, I will need to telephone you. Mike's trip to same place at 9:00 is an option.

According to the city's Facebook page, the main trail is open. All other trailheads are closed. Mike Smith's trip will leave from the main lot at 9:00. If weather, snow, road/trail conditions are issues, I will cancel the trip.
Join us for our 6th annual New Year’s Day Hike. Meet at the paved Spencer Butte main parking lot for the mile hike to the top. Optional: Bring a finger snack to share. In the past, we have had way too much food. Consider a container that could easily be handed from person to person. I'll have the beverage/cups for a toast.
Bring additional warm clothing as we usually linger on top to share our snacks and toast in the New Year.
