Description:
UPDATE: There will probably be heavy, wet snow falling during the day and ice-pack on the trail. Be prepared for a possible wind chill temp down to 20F in open areas. Bring a SIT PAD and POLES to get up/down steep ice pack on the trail safely. Trail goes for about 0.8 miles up a road, then breaks into a series of long, gentle switch-backs through mostly Doug Fir and Hemlock stands. We will trek up a steep, open section about 0.6 miles long with views of the Sisters, to a narrow pass between two volcanic towers. We will use GPS and blue diamonds for navigation. Be prepared to take turns breaking trail in deep snow.
