North Bank Earth Day Hike

Description:

Scenic loop starting at the Comstock Day-Use Site of the North Bank Wildlife Habitat Area. The route climbs on the Soggy Bottoms Trail to North Boundary/Middle Ridge that provides a view of the Umpqua River and Coastal Range. Group will continue down the Thistle Ridge Trail to Comstock TH. Sturdy footwear and walking poles suggested. There is a short rock scramble section along the ridge. There is also a fair amount of poison oak on the route, so dress accordingly. Bring plenty of water, lunch, sunhat, sunscreen and sense for adventure.

Trip Report

Beautiful day with many flowers. The Comstock TH gate was locked, so we opted to hike the main loop. 7.8 miles and very comfortable temps. This was the first visit for several of the hikers.
