Description:
Back by popular demand, spend three nights camping at Deer Flat Group Site (Horseshoe Bend Campground) located adjacent to the scenic North Umpqua River 48 miles east of Roseburg. The campground is sheltered from traffic noise on Hwy 138 and access to the river is within walking distance. This large group site is able to accommodate up to 50 people but I'm capping it at 24 so we'll have plenty of room to spread out. You will find individual camp sites within the group site that are flat and shaded. The site is equipped with flush toilets, water spigots, campfire rings, and wooden picnic tables throughout. There is also a central gathering area where we may be able make campfires at night. Tents, travel trailers and rvs are welcome. There are no rv hookups and generators are not welcome on this trip. Exploring and hiking will be the intended focus of this outing, however, river running is also an option for those with extensive whitewater experience. You are welcome to break off into smaller groups and do your own thing. Activities will be suggested but not expected of you.
Cost: $35.00 per person, non-refundable unless a replacement is found. Covers 3 nights @ Deer Flat Group Site and campfire wood (if fires are permitted).
