Trip Report

The day was clear and warm; progressed at an easy pace to the pinnacle snow field, seta fixed line and then belayed the group to the summit, where a party of Outward Bound people were also arriving from the Villard glacier north ridge route. Tarried a short time and while belaying down, Bud Proctor's group swished by to the top and then down with both groups using the fixed line on the snowfield. My thanks to Bud for agreeing to remove the fixed line. The warm summer day was shattered by thunder and rain squalls just as the descent was starting and progressed off and on through the night. A good climb with fine people. Special congratulations to Phyllis Ford for her third Sister and tenth peak; and Jane Hackett and Mike Wright on their third Sister. Those climbing were Lynn Baker, Ray Davis, Phyllis Ford, Jane and Mike Hackett, Eve Lonnquist, Charlotte Mills, Jerry Mohler, Don Payne, Mike Wright and leader Glenn Meares.
