Trip Report

With half the intended party cancelling for various reasons, the leader decided to go ahead and take a look at the mountain and weather. By the time we arrived at Frog Camp, there was not a cloud in the sky and it stayed that way through most of Sunday. We hiked into Arrowhead Lake Saturday afternoon and then rested and read until supper. We left camp at 3:30 Sunday morning by moonlight and took an easy pace, arriving at the col by 600. Spent a long time crossing the snowfield on the way up because the moat on top didn't look good from below. The moat looked great from above and we didn't even need crampons on the way down. On the summit by 10:30 and back to camp by 3:30 p.m.

This was Heather's 10th peak, but not all of them were with the Obsidians. The two climbers on this beautiful fall weekend were Heather Anderson and Keith Blunck, leader.
