Nye Beach to South Jetty beach

Description:

Meet at Jerry's Home Improvement Center, Hwy 99 (North Parking lot) at 8AM and carpool to Nye Beach, Newport.
We will start our hike 10AM at the front of Newport’s Visual Arts Center. (Address 764 NW Beach Dr, Newport.
GPS 44.63889, -124.06209). We will hike Nye beach south, through Yaquina Bay state park, over the Yaquina Bay bridge to Yaquina Bay South Jetty all the way to South Beach State Park....then back. 50% of the hike will be on the sandy beaches, 40% on trafficless roads and good paved trails, and 10% on bridge’s sidewalk.
Consider combining this Sunday hike with Saturday, January 8 hike lead by Kathie Carpenter.
Some of us plan to stay in Newport area and hike both days. It will be Obsidians weekend on the coast.
