Description:

We'll start this hike at the Lava Camp trailhead then follow the PCT past South Matthieu Lake and Yapoah Crater where we'll make a short stop for those who'd like to hike up the crater for some great views. We'll then hike on to Opie Dilldock Pass then hike up to Collier Glacier viewpoint for our lunch. We'll return on the same trail except we'll take the loop past North Matthieu Lake where we'll stop for a much deserved swim. After the hike you're all welcome to join us at Takoda's in Rainbow for dinner.

Trip Report

A cool morning with clear skies greeted the 10 Obsidians on this hike to Opie Dilldock Pass. We started at the Lava Camp Lake trailhead and followed the PCT, making stops at Yapoah Crater, to run to the top, and Collier Glacier viewpoint for lunch. On the return we stopped at North Matthieu Lake for a quick swim before heading back to our vehicles.
