Trip Report

The December 16 Potluck at the Lodge was unfortunately very sparsely attended, with only about 30 members and guests present.

The speaker, Klindt Vielbig, gave a very entertaining and informative slide show entitled "Ski Adventure Northwest". Not only did his superb slides cover many unusual Northwest ski routes, but there were also great shots of the European Alps, rare anima! tracks and stunning snow and ice formations (not to mention a slide or two showing off his cute granddaughter!).

For those who missed out, Klindt’s nearly 400-page (extensively revised) guidebook, "Cross-Country Ski Routes: Oregon", which describes hundreds of great ski routes in every ski-able part of Oregon and Southern Washington, is heartily recommended (obtainable from Mountaineer Books). - B.M.
