Description:

I will be driving the logging road prior trip to make sure it is clear all the way to trailhead. The hike travels through old growth and past Wolf Shelter. If the day is clear we can get views of the Three Sister and the Willamette drainage. The is. Very nice fall hike that is close to Eugene. PLEASE SEE CHANGE IN MEETING PLACE. LCC CLOSE TO PUBLIC.

Trip Report

Big surprise at trailhead. Many elk hunters. I have never led this trip in the fall so hunting did not register. After a quick conversation we retreated to Westfir and the middle fork of the Northfork of the Willamette. Parking lot full of vehicles carrying bike racks. Beautiful day, we did the lower section up and back. Only a few bikes. 3 people on this hike had never been on this trail so it worked out well. Hike was enjoyed by all.
